QNU hosted the opening ceremony of a specialized seafarer training program for participants from countries along the Belt and Road on July 19. During the ceremony, addresses were delivered by Vice President Xiahou Jianbing, Director Lin Li, and Md. Maruf Hassan, a representative of the international trainee cohort. The 44-day program were conducted in strict compliance with Chinese seafarer training standards, covering courses in Chinese language and cultural studies, as well as professional maritime skills, combining theoretical instruction with hands-on practical sessions. The training aimed to substantially enhance participants’ professional competencies, language proficiency, and cross-cultural communication abilities. In the future QNU would take this training program as an opportunity to further develop international seafarer training frameworks under the Belt and Road Initiative.
